Frequently Asked Questions
How many sessions do you recommend per week?
I recommend no more than one 90-minute session, two 1-hour sessions, or three 45-minute sessions per week. I am happy to work with students throughout the school year or on an as-needed basis, and there is no need to commit to a set number of sessions up front.
What are your expectations for students?
I expect students to arrive to sessions on time with their physics notes, paper and pencil, and a calculator (this does not include computer or smart phone calculators!). Ideally a student might bring along physics homework or a previous assessment to review. I am a proponent of effective time management and communication. To this end, I would encourage students to reach out to me ahead of their session with topics that they would like to review so that I can be prepared to make the most of our time together.
What times are you available for tutoring?
I am available Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM CST, on Fridays from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST, and on Saturdays from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM CST.
What is your cancellation/no-show policy?
I am happy to honor any cancellations up to 24 hours in advance of a scheduled session. In the event of an emergency, cancellations the day of a session will be excepted. If a session is missed without prior notice, I reserve the right to request payment upon scheduling any additional sessions to secure future attendance. In the event of two missed sessions without prior notice, I reserve the right to terminate our contract.
What types of payment do you accept?
I accept payment at the end of each session via cash, card, check, or through Venmo or Square.
